The Mitchells / Red Barn MN Wedding Photography

Jul 5, 2017

Meet The Mitchells. Rebecca and Tom were married at Red Barn Farm in Northfield, Minnesota.

Rebecca and Tom’s wedding day started off with bright sunshine and blue skies. After the bridal party photos, we headed to the barn where all of the sudden we noticed some ominous clouds forming. My assistant and I drove separately and arrived at the barn right before the clouds opened up. We were informed that the ceremony had been moved into the barn because of the weather. We were wondering where the bridal party (and bride and groom) were and we were told that the bus they were riding in GOT STUCK in the mud! Rebecca and Tom were such troopers. They arrived at the barn a little wet but still full of smiles and laughter. The ceremony was so lovely as they were surrounded by what matters most: friends and family.

Immediately after the ceremony, the clouds literally parted and the sun came out. It was  like night and day! I was so happy that they could host the wedding reception of their dreams outside. Guests mingled around the grounds, sipping cocktails, playing corn hole, taking photos at the photo booth and playing Hammerschlagen. It was so relaxing for the guests and they could really sit back and enjoy themselves.

Rebecca and Tom are avid Harry Potter fans. They incorporated their fandom into their wedding day with tasteful little details throughout the venue. From the magic wand to the potion bar. The quotes scattered about the venue, to the table decorations. It all tied the Harry Potter theme together so beautifully.

When I asked the bride and groom That it was unique, fun, relaxing, and the pizza was as bomb as the couple is”. In addition to a wedding venue, the Red Barn is also a pizza farm. They grow pesticide-free ingredients, and then have pizza nights where people come and enjoy the homemade gourmet pizza. I loved that the bride and groom served the pizza for dinner. It was delicious!! I have to say it was as bomb as the couple is!

As the sun started to dip, the campfire was lit and the s’mores bar was set up. I have never seen such a wide variety of s’mores ingredients! I have to be honest, I made one with a caramel chocolate bar and it was divine!

I was so glad the golden hour was in full display for Rebecca and Tom’s wedding night. I literally could not stop photographing them. I am obsessed with their golden hour images.

Rebecca ad Tom, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your wedding day. I have loved getting to know you both!

xo,

Nicole
