  • Fagen Home Team – RE/MAX Results
  • I would tell any woman going into business or taking on any passion or goal, to always remember her worth. For the majority of my career, before owning my own business, I worked in male dominated industries. And I have to preface this by saying that almost everyone I had the privilege of working with were wonderful people. However, it was not always easy feeling confident in these industries and I had to remind myself I was here for a reason. I was selected for a reason. And I was as qualified and as talented as my peers. This attitude is also critical if you want to take off on your own and start a business. You must remember that you have value. Your talent and your drive will need to lift you up on the rough days. Because you do have talent. And you do have value. And you certainly have incredible worth.
  • Starting my real estate business was a huge leap of faith and a scary one! I had been in sales my entire career but there was always something to fall back on financially. In real estate there is nothing to fall back on AND you “pay to work.” It does not matter if you do not sell a home one month, you still need to pay the various fees and costs associated with real estate. That was scary. It was important to plan and prepare financially before jumping right in. There is so much excitement in our industry and so many ways to market and spend money! It was a challenge, initially, to plan out where to prioritize and where to cut back. Another challenge I have had was scheduling my personal life. It is not always easy to make dinner plans or have a vacation. I never know when a client will need me or an urgent situation will occur. Work – life balance is the biggest challenge for my currently but it’s one that I will continue to work to improve going forward.
  • 1. In 2001 my entire face was reconstructed after a serious car accident. The only “piece” of my face that did not break was my nose. 2. Anyone who knows me knows I am very outspoken. When I was young I was the most shy student in school. I was shy all the way through high school. 3. I didn’t eat a hamburger at a fast food restaurant until I was 40 years old. 4. I read around 200 books per year
  • Some of the lessons I have learned during my career include: You will never please everyone. If you are always trying to make everyone happy, you will never succeed . You need to follow what you know to be the best choice for you. Mental Health Days are important. I do not take these days off enough but they are critical to your well-being and success. If you burn out you’re no good to anyone. Ask for help. Do not be afraid to admit you don’t know something. I have so much respect for people who come to me for help and I still ask for help all the time myself.
  • I plan to continue building my business over the next 5-10 years. Fagen Home Team has a lot of growth potential left and I don’t see an end to that in the near future.
  • I have been in sales for the majority of my career. For the first 18 years I did a lot of corporate sales and travelled extensively. The travel became exhausting and I didn’t really feel I was making any kind of difference on a daily basis. Further, I missed a lot of time with my two sons and I knew it was time to make a change. I chose real estate because I had always had an interest in it, but also because I am able to work with and help individuals every day. I love being able to assist people through the process of buying and selling homes and there is no day the same as the day before.
  • The book, The Go-Giver ~ A Little Story About A Poerful Business Idea by Bob Burg and John David Mann This book is absolutely amazing. It is all about giving and how the secret to success is truly giving.
