Small Town 4th of July | Chatfield, Harmony Family Photographer

Jul 7, 2013

There is just something about really small towns. They make me feel nostalgic and sentimental.

My family and I traveled down to visit my in-laws over the 4th of July holiday. We had so much fun spending some much needed time with my husband’s family, and also soaking in the local parade and fireworks! Did I mention my in-laws had an abundance of fireflies in their back yard!!? We had a blast catching about a dozen of them in an old mason jar! Watching my daughter chasing after them made me realize just how small she still is. The years go by so fast, it’s nice to just sit back and watch the little moments.

I always love to photograph small town parades. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because they are still “old fashioned”? From the tractors, to the Clydesdale’s. The flags on the light poles, to the gathering of friends and family. It all just makes me feel so nostalgic.

I hope you enjoy my tiny little slice of a Minnesota small town.

xoxo,

Nicole
