Nathalie and Curtis // Dellwood-Barn-Wedding-Photographer

Sep 29, 2016

Meet Nathalie and Curtis. They are one of the kindest couples I have ever worked with.

Nathalie and Curtis were married on a sunny fall day at Dellwood Barn in Grant, Minnesota.

One word I can use to describe Nathalie and Curtis’s wedding is lovely. They paid such great attention to detail. From the adorable chalk signs laid out around  the property, to the candle lit tables. From the dessert bar, to the popcorn stand during the cocktail hour. Everything was thought out to make the guests feel at home and welcomed.

The bridesmaids wore mint dresses, and the groomsmen wore navy suits with bowties. The bouquets and floral arrangements by Decor by Lavendar throughout the entire venue were simply gorgeous.

The first look took place right outside the barn, next to the horse stables. The anticipation right before the first look is one of my favorite parts of the day. The moment the groom sees his bride is always so moving. After the first look, the bride and groom chose to capture some portraits with the horses. I mean, how could we not?! The horses loved the groom’s boutonniere, and kept trying to nibble it, which was quite humorous!

Nathalie and Curtis’s wedding ceremony took place on a hill overlooking the entire property. The antique doors were adorned with a fresh floral wreath and the aisle was adorned with babies breath. Nathalie and Curtis’s vows were so emotional, it moved me to tears.

After the ceremony, the guests were treated to a cocktail hour, which included a popcorn stand, cornhole, light appetizers, and beverages. I loved how everyone mingled and really enjoyed themselves.

The golden hour during Nathalie and Curtis’s day did not disappoint. We went up to the hill where their ceremony took place and captured some amazing portraits. It’s no secret the golden hour is my favorite time of day. I could stay there forever!

One of the most moving portions of the wedding was when Nathalie had her first dance with her Grandfather. These images are some of my favorites from the day. I could tell how meaningful it was to Nathalie to have him there. The look on his face is enough to show just how much he loves his Granddaughter.

Nathalie and Curtis, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your love story. I have truly loved getting to know you and your families. Best wishes as Mr. and Mrs. Paulson!

xo,

Nicole
