I am so proud to share Megan and Dan’s sunrise engagement session.
Megan contacted me a couple of months ago to inquire about my wedding photography. When I asked her about her wedding plans, she replied “well, we are not engaged yet!”. Needless to say, I was surprised! Megan booked me before they were even engaged. She knew it was just a matter of time before Dan popped the question, and she was right. About a month after she booked me, Dan popped the question.
When Megan and I discussed the engegmanet session, I mentioned the idea of doing a sunrise session. She loved that idea! They wanted to incorporate their boat (they love boating and fishing together) and include their two dogs. I must admit, when I met their dogs I just fell in love. Their black dog, Winnie, reminds me so much of our dog, Jessie. And their dog Dexter was so sweet and calm. He LOVED sitting in the passenger seat of the boat.
This was my first time shooting a sunrise session. I was so inspired by the light at dawn. Our surroundings were so still and quiet. The birds were chirping as the sun was peeking up over the horizon. The golden light was pouring over Megan and Dan and it was simply breathtaking.
Dan and Megan took me out on their boat for a few shots of them fishing. We were the only ones on the lake, and it was so serene.
At the end of our shoot, Megan mentioned she would like to try a shot of Dexter with Megan’s wedding ring on his nose. As we set up for the shot, he kept licking his nose and I was worried he would eat her ring. But thankfully, we got the shot and her ring was not eaten!
Megan and Dan, I am looking forward to your winter wedding. If your engagement session is any indication of the fun we will have, then I can’t wait!
