Meet Melissa and Aaron.
They are such a sweet couple. I mean literally, they just are so kind hearted and really made my job so easy.
Melissa and Aaron were married at their family church in Elk River, surrounded by family and friends. Their reception was held at Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake, Minnesota. When I arrived at the church to photograph the “getting ready” portion of the day, I noticed the bride and bridesmaids were wearing matching robes (gifted by the bride). The bride had also given her bridesmaids a gift or perfume and gorgeous earrings. I asked the bride if she knew what perfumes her bridesmaids wore ahead of time, and she relied that she did not. She purchased perfume whose scent reminded her of each friend. I absolutely love this idea. It’s so personal. The bride and Groom also exchanged gifts. Let’s be honest, anytime us ladies see a Tiffany & Co. blue box, we get a little giddy. I absolutely adore the necklace Aaron gifted his bride (hint, hint to my husband!). And the time piece Melissa gifted to Aaron was so handsome.
Melissa and Aaron’s first look was under a gorgeous old oak tree. The leaves were changing and honestly the images are so beautiful. All of their bride and groom portraits are so warm and really highlight the autumn surroundings. The red dresses the bridesmaids wore were perfect for an autumn wedding.
After the ceremony, we traveled to Majestic Oaks. The ballroom was so warm and inviting, with lit candles on each table, twinkle lights adorning the ceiling, and fresh flowers on each table. The guests were treated to a cocktail hour while we snuck outside for a few more bride and groom portraits among the gorgeous willow trees. During dinner, I was worried that the golden hour just wasn’t going to happen for us. The day had been overcast, and the odds were not in our favor. To my surprise, right before sunset, the clouds parted and the golden sun popped out. I quickly asked the bride and groom to step outside and they were so gracious to follow my lead. The golden hour images we captured are amazing! I just love this part of the day, and I am so thankful my clients do too.
Melissa and Aaron, I want to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day. Congratulations on becoming husband and wife!
