Meet Melissa and Aaron. They are so extremely sweet.
I met Melissa and Aaron this past fall to discuss their wedding plans and I knew we would be a great fit! When they scheduled their engagement photos in the winter I was even more excited. I seriously LOVE winter sessions. In my opinion, not enough people opt for winter engagement photos or winter weddings. Living in Big Lake, Minnesota, it’s hard to hide from the long winters, so I choose to embrace it. If you are getting married in the spring, summer, or fall, opting for a winter engagement session is a great way to tell your love story in a season that is so beautiful.
I love the wardrobe options as well for winter engagement sessions. For their engagement session, Melissa and Aaron chose some great options that would layer well. Layering is an easy way to quickly switch up your wardrobe. For the first portion of our engagement session, Melissa stepped out of the car wearing a STUNNING red dress. I was super excited when I saw her wearing it. It popped against the beautiful green pine trees behind her at the first location. Aaron wore khaki pants with a grey wool sweater and brown boots and I loved how his outfit complimented Melissa’s dress. Melissa was also brave enough to wear heels for the first portion of the engagement session, and I have to give major kudos to her!
The second portion of Melissa and Aaron’s engagement session was more relaxed. Melissa opted for a beautiful muted color shawl and jeans, paired with brown boots. Aaron wore a maroon pullover, jeans and brown boots. This is where Melissa and Aaron decided to play in the snow! I love when my clients interact with eachother in a REAL way.
The third portion of the shoot took place among the tall stands of pine trees. I love the linear feel of these images. The surroundings were so quiet and secluded. The stands of pines created a tunnel and it was so breathtaking. For this location, Melissa and Aaron put on their coats and this completed their third look.
