Meet Nicole | An Introduction to Your Senior Photographer

Well Hello There!

My name is Nicole, and I am the creative mind behind Nicole Spangler Photography. I serve the great state of Minnesota and I have been in business for over 8 years. I wanted to write an article about little ol’ me. To be honest, I was a little apprehensive about writing this article. Let’s face it, who likes to write about themselves? I am hoping this article allows you to get to know me not only as your photographer, but also get a sense of what drives me creatively.

WHY SENIORS CHOOSE ME:

The Golden Hour – One of the most popular answers I get when I ask my seniors why they booked me is “your golden hour images”. I secretly scream inside when I hear that. The golden hour is my literal happy place. I get goose bumps when it begins and I get sad when it ends. There is just something about that golden sun as it begins to descend on the horizon that helps me tell your story in a way that is timeless yet youthful.

Locations and Editorial Posing – All of my senior sessions have a fresh, editorial vibe to them. I love that my girls feel like they are a model for the day. I utilize locations that are perfect for that editorial look. Whether it be an urban setting, or a flowering field, I work with you to create poses that are fluid, editorial, and GORGEOUS!

Storytelling – Typically my senior clients love that I incorporate their hobbies, personal vibes, and interests into their senior session. Prior to the senior session, I send out a questionnaire to the senior. I ask them questions that will help me plan for their senior session. If they have a horse for instance I will then plan accordingly to incorporate the horse into their session. If they have a boho vibe, I scout locations that will emphasize their look.

Fun and Uplifting – I am not your typical photographer. I LOVE to have fun and be silly. I have no problem making a fool out of myself in order to make you giggle for the camera. I also want you to be comfortable in front of the camera – not stressed out and stiff. So I really make sure that we get to know each-other during our shoot so you feel relaxed and at ease. I also feel that every girl deserves to have her story told. You have a voice and it needs to be heard. For these reasons (and more) I love to make sure that each of my clients feels uplifted.

Wardrobe Styling – I seriously love fashion. My clients ADORE the wardrobe styling they receive when they book their senior portraits with me. I have built a wardrobe closet for my clients to borrow clothing from if they choose to. I also provide wardrobe styling assistance to my seniors. They are welcome to text me their outfit ideas and I will help with coordinating.

Hair and Makeup – We include complimentary hair and makeup with all of our senior sessions.  SoCoJo Hair and Makeup takes excellent care of you at their studio prior to your session. They listen to your ideas and provide gorgeous results.

There are many more reasons why I do what I do. I recently wrote down my manifesto. I feel that it really tells the story of who I am and what my business is about. I hope it resonates with you:
