Anticipation | 2015 Year in Review

I woke up this morning with a little voice saying “wake up, it’s time to share your favorite images from 2015!”

I have to be honest, I always look forward to my year in review. I love looking back and reflecting on the year that was. I am so thankful to all of my friends (read: clients) who have impacted my life and business. Each session and wedding always leaves an impression and inspires me.

As 2015 draws to a close, I can say it was pretty amazing. In 2015 I decided to solely shoot weddings and seniors. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. As many of you know, I thrive during the golden hour. My heart soars during those fleeting minutes when the sun dips toward the horizon and the golden light drenches my subjects. Although the golden hour is fleeting, I photograph my most inspiring images at this time and it keeps me coming back for more.

I love, love, love photographing love stories. I enjoy watching couple’s love stories grow and change over time. I always leave a wedding feeling like I am a part of the couple’s family. And for that I want thank each and every wedding client I have had. Thank you for allowing me into your love story and letting me capture your private whispers, your silent glances, your first dances, your golden hour embraces. 

I am so inspired when shooting high school seniors. My goal is to make them feel beautiful inside and out. I always enjoy the fashion portion of planning a senior shoot, and I hope my seniors enjoy it as much as I do. Each senior session is different and I love how confident my clients feel by the end of their shoot. I always look forward to watching how my senior clients soar after they graduate. I want to thank my seniors for trusting in my vision and for really opening up to me during our shoots.

As I look forward to 2016, I am giddy with anticipation. Anticipation about the untold love stories I will document. Anticipation about documenting seniors whose voice is dying to be heard. Anticipation about where my creative life will take me in 2016.
